Calbayog City, Samar \u2013 October 26, 2025<\/em> \u2014 The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) welcomed the inaugural Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight connecting Cebu and Calbayog on Sunday morning, marking a major step toward strengthening regional air connectivity in Eastern Visayas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The maiden flight from Cebu arrived at Calbayog Airport at 8:42 a.m.<\/strong> and departed back to Cebu at 9:20 a.m.<\/strong> The new route will operate four times a week<\/strong> \u2014 every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday \u2014 offering greater convenience for travelers between the two key Visayan cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative aligns with the administration\u2019s efforts to enhance inter-island accessibility and stimulate regional economies, following the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.<\/strong> and Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CAAP Director General Retired Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario<\/strong> emphasized the importance of improving regional air routes, stating,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
