TACLOBAN CITY — A major milestone in public healthcare was marked on January 29, 2026, with the official launching of the DOH Wellness Clinic, the first mall-based clinic in Eastern Visayas, located at Robinsons North Mall, Abucay, Tacloban City.
The initiative was made possible through the strong collaboration of the Tacloban City Government, through the Tacloban City Hospital, the Department of Health – Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH EVCHD), and Robinsons Land Corporation. The clinic aims to bring quality, accessible, and convenient healthcare services closer to the people, especially in a safe and easy-to-access public space.
The opening was led by Department of Health Secretary Teodoro “Ted” Herbosa, in cooperation with DOH-EV CHD Regional Director Dr. Exuperia B. Sabalberino. The mall-based clinic aligns with the DOH’s vision of delivering people-centered, inclusive, and high-quality health services across the region.
Through its partnership with the City Government of Tacloban and Robinsons Land Corporation – Abucay Tacloban Branch, the DOH Wellness Clinic currently offers the following services to the public:
- Pediatric consultation
- Laboratory testing
- X-ray and ECG
- Free medicines
- Blood pressure check
All services are provided free, safe, and convenient, supporting the intensified and broader delivery of healthcare services in Eastern Visayas.
The DOH Wellness Clinic stands as a product of strengthened collaboration between government and non-government partners, reinforcing the shared commitment to improve public health outcomes and promote wellness for all.
