Calbayog City, Samar — Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) has reaffirmed its commitment to education and youth development as it prepares for the third year of the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program, set for implementation in 2026.
An orientation for aspiring tutors and Youth Development Workers (YDWs) was successfully conducted recently for NwSSU students at the Calbayog City campus. The activity aimed to equip participants with a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities under the program, which focuses on improving literacy while empowering college students to contribute to community development.
During the session, students were given the opportunity to raise questions and seek clarifications, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared to take part in the program. University officials emphasized NwSSU’s continued full support for the initiative as it enters its third year, highlighting its positive impact on both learners and student volunteers.
