Following confirmed cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD), the main campus of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) conducts massive sanitation and disinfection operation starting 6 October 2025.
Disinfection of classrooms, offices, laboratories, restrooms, and other shared areas were undertaken by maintenance staff of EVSU. This cleaning effort is in compliance with the Memorandum No. 10-02-2025 issued from the Office of the University President that aims to prevent further transmission and ensure a safe environment before students and staff return to in-person classes.
To support the disinfection process, the university has shifted all classes to online and asynchronous modes from October 6 to 10, 2025. Students are strictly advised not to enter the campus during this period.
After assessing the situation, the EVSU administration continues to prioritize the health and safety of the university community by actively monitoring the situation and working closely with health authorities to control the spread of the infection.
The university also urges everyone to practice proper hygiene and report any HFMD symptoms immediately to the university health services for prompt attention.
