BAYBAY CITY, Leyte — The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center VIII (ATI-RTC 8) proudly recognized its Outstanding Agriculture and Fisheries Extension (AFE) Partners during the observance of the National Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Services Month this October.
Among those recognised were:
- Virlanie A. Cartagena, awarded as “Most Outstanding Agricultural Extension Worker” under the Corn Program; and
- The Local Government Unit of Palompon, Leyte, recognized as “Most Outstanding LGU Partner” through its Municipal Agriculture Office.


The recognition ceremony highlighted the invaluable contributions of ATI-RTC 8’s partners in strengthening agricultural and fisheries extension in Eastern Visayas. Through their consistent collaboration and dedication, these partners have helped bridge farmers and fisherfolk to essential extension services that enhance their technical, business, and social capabilities—contributing to improved productivity, competitiveness, and sustainability in the region’s agri-fishery sector.
