Silago, Southern Leyte -November 6, 2025 – The Municipality of Silago received a heartwarming show of solidarity today as the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Miguel, Leyte, led by Municipal Mayor Atty. Norman D. Sabdao, personally delivered a substantial load of relief goods to Silago’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in support of ongoing recovery efforts following the devastation caused by Typhoon Tino.
The delivery included 1,500 kilograms of rice, 1,500 packs of noodles, 1,500 cans of sardines, 1,500 bottles of water, 50 hygiene and bedding kits, and various assorted medicines—critical supplies that will directly assist affected families in their time of need.
Beyond the material assistance, Mayor Sabdao also offered words of encouragement and led a solemn prayer for the swift recovery of all Silagonhons. His visit embodied the enduring Filipino value of bayanihan, as one community extended its hands to another in compassion and unity.
Silago Municipal Mayor Lemuel Honor expressed his deep gratitude to Mayor Sabdao and the entire San Miguel LGU for their generosity and concern.
“We are profoundly grateful for the kindness and solidarity shown by Mayor Sabdao and the people of San Miguel. Your support uplifts our hearts and strengthens our resolve to recover together,” Mayor Honor said.
The relief items will be immediately distributed as part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts coordinated by Silago’s ICS-activated Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
The act of generosity from San Miguel stands as a shining example of inter-LGU cooperation and shared resilience—proof that in the face of adversity, the Filipino spirit of unity and compassion continues to shine bright.
