Julita, Leyte – October 26, 2025 — The Municipality of Julita marked another step toward empowering its residents as Municipal Mayor Hon. Irvin “Toytoy” R. Dy witnessed the opening of a new batch of trainees under the TESDA Carpentry NC II certification program.
The program aims to equip participants with essential carpentry skills, opening doors to better livelihood and employment opportunities both locally and abroad. The initiative reflects the municipality’s continued commitment to skills development and community empowerment through partnerships with government training institutions.
Mayor Dy commended the dedication of the town’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), led by Ma’am Elena Cantero and Ma’am Myuka Narca, for their proactive efforts in ensuring that Julita residents have access to technical and vocational training programs that build self-reliance and sustainable income sources.
“We are proud of our PESO team and our trainees who are taking this step to improve their lives. These skills are not just for employment—they are tools for building a better future for our families and our community,” Mayor Dy said.
The TESDA Carpentry NC II course provides hands-on training in construction fundamentals, including woodworking techniques, safety standards, and project management—skills that are highly in demand in today’s workforce.
As the training begins, Mayor Dy extended his congratulations to all the aspiring carpenters, encouraging them to make the most of the opportunity and continue striving for excellence.
This program reaffirms Julita’s mission to foster inclusive local development through education, skills training, and livelihood enhancement—empowering its people to build not just structures, but stronger futures. 🛠️
